PFAS

Largest pilot program to remove emerging contaminants- PFAS

PFAS and other emerging contaminants continue to drive complexity in water treatment and present an ongoing threat to water supply’s quality and safety. In 2020, Evoqua supported the largest pilot in the U.S. to date to identify a treatment remedy for removing PFAS from groundwater. The water district installed 30 liquid phase media adsorption vessel systems, using two different media types, to treat up to 86 million gallons of water a day. The new system provides clean, safe, and healthy drinking water to 2.5 million water district customers in Southern California
